Playa maderas
San Juan Del Sur’s most popular surf break is a quick walk through the jungle. This classic beach break can bring the crowds when the swell is primo. Surfers will find a small, but good variety of food and surf rental options at the beach. The sunsets are bad either.
Playa Remanso
Playa Remanso is the first surf break south of SJDS. This U shaped cove works best with a direct swell. During all but the largest swell Remanso is a gentle and slow wave great for beginners, SUPs and long boarders.
playa hermosa
Located about 30 minutes South of Casa Cresta, Play Hermosa is a must visit. The beach is private, meaning you pay a small fee to access. This fee provides you with access to beach palapas, showers, great food and cold cervezas. The beach is super long, and has lots of variety. Surfers will find slow curling peaks and fast, hollow tubes. Waves are non-existent during low tide.
